    1. Hi Robert.

The style is known as a commando sweater, or jumper as sweaters are called in the UK, because they are inspired by the ones worn by the British Commandos in WWII.

I started wearing a green sweater so it would blend in with the walls in Martin’s sound room, since I wanted the videos to be about the guitars, not about me. But whenever I make a video without one, I certainly hear about it. 🙂

The first one, with the leather patches, was purchased in England. Once the wool started to lose its shape, I replaced it with a military surplus sweater from the Indian Army.

And I just ordered a new one from L.L. Bean, which you may want to check out, what with winter coming on. But I will probably continue to use the Indian sweater on camera, as it is not wool and is therefore not nearly as hot under the lights.

  1. Spoon: what is that lovely piece you play at the end of so many demos for Maury’s Music? It haunts my dreams. Is there sheet music with chord charts for it? Thanks

    1. I am assuming you are referring to “Riding Back From Boston.” I expect to release it publicly on a CD later this year. But otherwise there is no printed material available as of yet.’

      But thanks for asking.

  2. Wow, this is great to hear what you are doing.

I vividly recall the times I have listened to you. As kids I thought you were right there with Bob Dylan, who you introduced me to, Thanks. I hope we can talk soon.

    Scott
